Sanden Corporation opens the Sanden Global Center (hereafter SGC) on September 19, 2008, after its development since 2006. Sanden’s original home ground of Isesaki City in Gunma Prefecture will become a base for research and development, with full use being made of SGC to enhance its global competitiveness and achieve further growth in the future.
SGC consists of three areas, a Technical Center for research and development of products and technology for future growth; a Culture Center for spreading Sanden’s corporate culture that focuses on making challenge and innovation globally; and a House of History for preserving and displaying the company’s history since its founding.
The core of SGC is the Technical Center, which has an extremely vital role to play in increasing corporate unity for global growth by concentrating diverse knowledge and technology, as being the center of Sanden’s technology. This concentration of previously dispersed technology and information in one single place will further improve our production technology and lead to the creation of new technologies. The center also aims to be a top runner in the field of environmental technology, working to introduce absolutely cutting edge facilities making possible research and development on a higher level of energy management technology, infrastructure technology and electronics technology, allowing the creation of worthwhile products.
One of the roles the Culture Center will play is to spread Sanden’s original Sanden Total Quality Management (STQM), which will act as a foundation for the improvement of global competitiveness overall. The center will take to the world the corporate cultural DNA of Sanden, namely its drive toward innovation and spirit of challenge, while also fully developing human resources able to be active on a global level. Furthermore, managing the various information of the Sanden Group and concentrating and controlling it in this Culture Center will greatly enhance the speed of the Group’s business management.
The House of History will present the corporation’s history from its beginnings with the aim of transmitting, spreading and establishing Sanden’s corporate culture in places beyond borders. Part of its concept is that exchanges of information and personal interaction between the employees of the corporation who visit here will lead to further development of the corporation’s business.
The Gunma Head Office area contains a concentration of sites vital to Sanden, centered on SGC. Amongst these is the Communication Plaza, a training facility open to outside also; the Yattajima Plant, which functions as the global mother factory for car air conditioning systems; the Sanden Football Park for the community activities; the Akagi Plant, which functions in harmony with its environment inside the Sanden Forest; and the DUN-COYA lodge, where employees can talk about nature, their dreams and the world. The road which connects these collection of sites, running about 30km from north to south, is called the Sanden Road, and SGC is located in the center of this. The SGC will act as the focal point for Sanden’s cohesive power to bring people together and for its global competitiveness, Sanden Corporation will accelerate its creation of environmentally conscious products even further based on quality and human resources while gaining greater operational efficiency for the corporation and allowing its functions to act to their maximum ability.
