Launched sales of wireless communication modem “moderno.M” equipped with LAN interface

September 5, 2007News Release

Sanden Corporation will launch the sale of “moderno.M” as a new model of the wireless communication modem “moderno”, which operates on mobile telephone communication networks, featuring a LAN interface.

The “moderno.M” responds to both mobile communication systems, CDMA and FOMA, and can continue to be used after the 2012 transition to the 800MHtz frequency band. While the “moderno” models only featured a serial interface, the new “moderno.M” will feature both a serial and LAN interface. Wireless communication is possible for any device that can be connected to a LAN cable.

By using the “moderno.M”, the parking fee data of unmanned parking lots can be remotely controlled even when LAN cables cannot be installed. The modem also allows different devices to be connected to the serial and LAN interfaces. For example, sales data and electronic payment data can both be collected by connecting the vending machine controller to the serial cable and the electronic money reader to the LAN cable for vending machines with electronic payment options.

Sanden Corporation will continue with its efforts to improve added value of its electronic devices business, through strengthening the company’s product development in IT-related areas.
