Launch of "370-Liter Type, Thin-Model Sanden Eco-Cute" newly designed with good feeling

Sanden Corporation will launch the sale of "370-Liter Type, Thin-Model Sanden Eco-Cute" on October 2, 2006. This new model is a thin-model electric water heater, with a new design fitting the designs or colors of houses being applied and added to the existing "Sanden Eco-Cute"*,
a conventional natural refrigerant heat-pump type electric water heater. We succeeded to widen the depth of a hot-water storage tank to 43 cm, which is the top-class length in the industry, using vacuum insulation material. This model is a product easy to install in a limited space,
and is well-designed with urban-oriented specifications.
The Eco-Cute market has grown to a market with sales exceeding 220,000 units in fiscal 2005, and a significant leap of its sales is expected in line with the government's energy-saving policy.
In the circumstance where a box-shaped tank is a mainstay for hot-water storage tanks following a shape fashion for electric water heaters, Sanden is trying to develop a new market,
offering not only contemporary box-shaped tanks but also products in a new style, for users sticking to better product designs.
For the Sanden Eco-Cute, not only development research for quality improvement is being performed, but also a 365-days-a-year and 24 hours-a-day after-service system is provided for the maintenance of the product sold,
focusing on users' convenience. We will proactively promote the implementation of responses based on a user-first concept, and give consideration to the environment, develop products having features suited to the market,
and energetically sell products making full use of the so-far accumulated concept (technologies) of "refrigeration and heating".
* "Eco-Cute" is a pet name for a natural refrigerant heat-pump water-heating device recommended by electric power companies, and by sales and manufacturing firms.
Features of a new model
(1) Advanced form
The old type box-shape image was eliminated, considering harmony with housing designs and adopting a process of corner chamfering and a two-tone color.
(2) Simultaneous pursuit of conspicuous thinness and insulation efficiency
Achieving thinness of 20mm less than conventional-type products and improving the heat-retaining property by using vacuum insulation material for the first time in the industry.
(3) Graphic remote control devices easy to handle
Consideration is given so that not only children but also elderly persons can easily handle the remote control device with the color of a button chosen changing to red or blue,
and operation guides are displayed in letters or notified by recorded voice. An inter-phone function is also equipped, so that a conversation between the bathroom and the kitchen is possible.
(4) Contamination-resistant profile for tank's outside board is improved
The adhesion of contamination caused by raindrops was alleviated by improving internal reinforcing hardware, halving the number of screws in the front,
and devising means to change the shape of the top panel.
(5) Two sewer valves, which help in case of disaster
Water will be drained through an air-bleeding valve, keeping a bucket in place. All water in a tank will become available at a disaster,
by opening the sewer valve in the lower part when the capacity in a tank falls low.
(6) Maintenance works improved
Functional components can be inspected from the front and the side with an open mouth, with depth being equipped.
The efficiency in maintenance work is improved, because it becomes easy to put hands in the device. Work for fitting bolts or piping installation became easier,
as a foot was elevated by 10mm to 158mm.
(7) Small and highly efficient plate type heat exchanger was adopted
The bath re-heating function is enhanced with a stainless plate-laid plate-type heat exchanger.
It is possible to heat up the bath from 40 degrees centigrade to 42 degrees in five minutes (in cases with 200 liters in a bath tub and 70 degrees maintained for hot water in a tank).
(8) Learning function to heat water economically
This product automatically learns a volume of hot water used by a user, and prevents a shortage of or an excess of hot water.
Levels of functions included in the automatic operation increased from those of conventional products, and the volume of water to be heated and its temperature will be more finely adjusted.
