Sanden Corporation is determined to construct a distribution & processing center in Sanden Forest, located in Maebashi-shi, Gunma Prefecture.
A plan to construct this center has already been included in the Sanden Forest construction project. Therefore, this represents the second stage of the implementation of such a project.
The purpose of this distribution & processing center, which will be constructed on a site area of 5,000 tsubo (16,500m2), is to fully eliminate the intermediate stock of parts and products,
consolidating scattered storage and directly connecting the operations of manufacturing and distribution, thereby pursuing thorough efficiency in our manufacturing work. Construction work started in February this year,
and the center is expected to start its operations in October.
A solar power generation system rated at 300KW will be installed on the center's roof. Electricity generated by such a system will be supplied to manufacturing plants, so that environment-friendly operations can be facilitated.
This idea will further embody Sanden Forest's management concept of "Co-existence of environment and industry with no contradiction", and will be implemented as a joint business of "Field test business of solar power generation technologies, etc." of NEDO*.
As to the Sanden Forest project, land formation for and construction of the Akagi plant started in 2000, after obtaining a permit under the Ordinance Concerning Large-scale Development of Gunma Prefecture.
It was the first stage of construction for the Sanden Forest project, and the Akagi plant began production in April 2002 of products for the Commercial Store System Division, such as vending machines and freezers,
and refrigerated showcases for retail shops, and for the Living & Environment System Division. Sanden Corporation will continue to aggressively and efficiently use this Sanden Forest, aiming toward the integration of environment and industry based on the concept of "Co-existence of environment and industry with no contradiction".
