Sanden Corporation will expand sales of a vending machine model that uses carbon dioxide as a coolant, replacing fluorocarbons.
In addition to sales of vending machines using carbon dioxide coolants for cans and bottles, we will launch glass-fronted CO2-coolant machines in November, and will cultivate demand mainly from milk-beverage makers. Glass-fronted vending machines allow customers to see inside of them; many of these machines are installed in such public areas as schools and hospitals. We have concluded that there is strong demand for eco-friendly vending machines, and so have decided to launch our CO2-coolant machines.
The refrigeration units for fluorocarbon systems and CO2 systems are interchangeable, and so there is no need change designs. We will proceed with increasing the use of CO2-coolants to other vending machines, and promote the further development of eco-friendly vending machines.
