Sanden Corporation (COO: Yoshimasa Hayakawa, Head Office: Isesaki-shi, Gunma) implemented a Comprehensive Agreement concerning cooperation in research and educational works on June 20, 2005 with Waseda University Environmental Research Institute (President: Katsuya Nagata, Office in Honjou-shi: Honjou-shi, Saitama). The purpose and scope of the Agreement are as follows.
Both parties signed this agreement for the purpose of mutually promoting industrial growth and academic development capitalizing on human and material resources as well as intellectual properties which the company and the university are holding.
Although Sanden has already started to perform joint research works with Waseda University Environmental Research Institute, in order to further strengthen this relationship, it signed this comprehensive agreement, this time with a view to cooperation in much wider fields based on the furtherance of joint research efforts in a technological area.
Taking this opportunity, Sanden will attempt to work on research and development for new businesses, matching customers’ needs with technical needs, or to implement cooperation in the area of fostering employees and students who are responsible for the next generation. Sanden will also try to implement wider collaboration, though not exclusively in technological fields. It will also work towards conducting research for a model of collaborative works and joint creative efforts to be performed and made by industry, academia, government, and citizens, relying on the basis of the cooperative relationship with Waseda University Environmental Research Institute.
Waseda University not only has a school of science and engineering, but also wide range of faculties and graduate schools including those of law, social sciences, management, and other studies. Therefore Sanden will henceforth explore the opportunities for active interchange with the Center in such areas as business planning and administrative works in addition to technical fields.
