In its Refrigeration Systems Division, Sanden’s active development of environmentally advanced systems began with the adoption of new refrigerants with zero ozone depleting potential, and as the Company gained an enhanced understanding of environmental preservation, it shifted its attention to preventing global warming by creating products that conserve energy via reduced power consumption. In fiscal 2005, Sanden successfully developed an energy-efficient system that is designed to substantially reduce the power consumption of the cooling device in refrigerated open showcases.

| In convenience store refrigeration systems, Store Master saves energy
and helps to protect the environment by reducing the power consumption of the cooling devices in refrigerated
open showcases by 20%, compared with traditional systems. This translates into an annual reduction
in CO2 emissions* per store of approximately two tons. In addition, Store
Master achieves a 7% reduction in energy consumption through improved flow control, making the system
27% more energy efficient than traditional systems. *Calculated based on the CO2 emission factor:
0.378kg-CO2/kWh in line with guidelines issued by Japan’s
Ministry of the Environment’s Global Environment Bureau.
