Research & Development System
The Automotive Systems Division is proceeding with product development under the following policies in a bid
to improve automobile fuel-efficiency, prevent global warming, and reduce environmental burdens.
 |
1) Natural resource conservation
Reduction in size and weight, use of common parts, standardization of parts, reusing materials, extension
of products’ life, and enhancement of recycling efficiency.
2) Energy saving
Promotion of high product efficiency and power savings, and saving manufacturing energy.
3) Reduction of environmental burdens
Compliance with laws concerning toxic and controlled substances, and reduction of emission costs.
During the course of product development, Sanden has made product assessment mandatory in the process
of DR (design review) and also has ensured a process of manufacturing high-quality and eco-friendly
products consistently from planning stages to final production. |

Sanden
is exerting every possible effort to contribute to energy saving by making compressors highly efficient, small,
light-weight, and external variable capacity controllable. It is also proactively promoting research and development
aiming toward production of electric-power-driven compressors for hybrid cars and fuel cell powered vehicles,
Freon-free compliance, and enhancement of recycling efficiency.
Sanden has established a development structure with which it can respond carefully and in a timely manner to daily
changing needs by performing development works at places not far from where internationally expanding auto manufacturers
are located.
